Terry Semel lists oceanfront Malibu home for $50 million
Business tycoon Terry Semel, who spent 24 years as the chairman and co-CEO of Warner Bros. before becoming CEO of Yahoo! in 2001 and and now serves on the Board of Directors for the Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, The Paley Center for Media, and the Guggenheim Museum, has listed his oceanfront home in Malibu for $50 million.
The angular glass and steel structure was designed by power architect Michael Graves, and is comprised of three pavilions, each of which has a distinct theme. Entering through the streamlined atrium, the main house draws you through to the airy kitchen and living areas. Walls of windows open up to face the lawn and the sea beyond. The house also includes 6 bedrooms and 10 baths.
The next pavilion over is the barrel-ceilinged screening room. The exterior of the domed roof is sheathed in copper, and the circular dormer windows pour light into the interior. When not being used to screen films, the space doubles as a comfortable living area.
One more pavilion remains: the guest house. The two-story structure contains a large living room equipped with a wet bar, three bedrooms, two full baths, and a second-story sunning deck. The guest house also opens onto the compound’s verdant lawn, swimming pool/spa combo, and dining gazebo.
